Mizuemo is known as treasonable villain in the Kabuki play. Sharaku impressively drew this terribly bad man and this picture is known as the best masterpiece among his half body chart. Who is Sharaku Toushusai?
Sharaku Toushusai is a kind of inscrutable woodprint master. His Ukiyo-e is very well know and highly reputable, but little is known of him. His true name and the dates of his birth or death are not known with any certainty. It is said that his active career as a woodblock artist was just for ten months in the mid-Edo period.
